DUCKS GET BACK TO ROOTS ON “POND OF DREAMS”
ColumbusDucks.com Staff Writer – January 19, 2009

Some of the Columbus Ducks got back to the roots of hockey over
the weekend taking advantage of the arctic Columbus weather by
playing a few games of Shinny on a frozen pond. Ducks John
McConnell, Bill Ross, Tim Miller, Brandon Wilkins, and Brad
Wright along with a few other special invitees laced up their
skates and had a little fun on a frozen pond in an un-disclosed
location twice over the frozen weekend.

“It reminds me of when I was a kid. I am just out here trying to
have some fun.” Bill Ross said. “I kind of want it to stay cold
now.”

“This is what it is about, friends and hockey just for fun.”
McConnell was quoted as saying during the secret event.

In a truly picturesque environment it was just for love of the
game and their friendships these Ducks took to the ice.
