Ducks Win!!!
ColumbusDucks.com Staff Writer – January 26, 2009

Double entendres aside, the Ducks took to the ice Thursday
Night and beat Off in the Box with a convincing 4 – 1 victory.
The Ducks proven, stifling defense returned to form after
allowing a disappointing 3 goals a week before. The goalkeeping
of Don McMillen, save for one slight miscue, was it’s ever
present dominating self. Also, the relentless Ducks attack
was too much for the Off in the Box team to handle and they
had to resort to committing penalties to slow down the Ducks offense.

A pair of goals from Brandon Wilkins proved to be all the Ducks
would need in the offensive end, but Bill Ross and Matt Lockard
each added a goal to the Ducks tally.

While the offensive effort from Ross and Wilkins were without a
doubt deserving of accolade it was the Lockard goal that many Ducks
fans left the game remembering. Ducks Captain John McConnell,
playing defense in the game, rifled a clearing pass from the red
line into the Off in the Box zone. The puck crashed into the
board behind and to the right of the Off in the Box goal and after
taking a strange carom bounced right in front of the goal. Matt
Lockard was flying into the zone and found the puck landing right
onto his stick after the funny bounce. After throwing a deke that
drew the goalie out of the net Lockard buried the puck into the back
of the net.

The Ducks will look to keep their winning streak alive next week
against Champs out at Easton at 10:15 pm. Come out and show your
support for the team
